First step for any upgrade is to review the upgrade guide and RN for the target version(s) available on cisco.com

my only confusions is the files that i need to upgrade the CUC i dont need to change the virtual machine space. another confuse is when i ask a friend he told me that the only thing you need is the virtual machine OVA for 8.5.1 and the 8.5.1 iso file.
please advice and if you have Upgrade guide please attached
thank you in advance

Yeah, the overall procedure is the same, but there are a lot of things that are not applicable as you're not doing a RU and those depend on the specific upgrade path
For that upgrade, if there are no changes to the VM specs, you *should* only need the iso file, however, everything that is required will be in the upgrade guide and RN:

my plan is 1- go to Publisher ---> cisco unified OS Administration ----> software upgrades ----> install/upgrade ---> use my local SFTP to download the iso file .
any other step?
the file that you attached confuses me i'm kind lost !!
