User name change after marriage

Hello,

I have several users in my organization that have had gotten married and changed their names, i have updated their names in my AD/exchange and how would like to update their name in the cisco phone systems, how would i go about this without breaking their current phones and voicemails boxes, we use CUCM and Cisco unity connection for our voicemail

On CUCM if you mean the display/alerting name or similar setting, just go and change it, that's all there is to it.

If you are just changing their last names, then no problem, LDAP synch on cucm and cuc, will automatically reflect their surname, If you are changing their user ID as well. I am pretty sure that will break things as the UID cannot be cahnged on the fly on cucm/cuc but only in AD, IF you are using LDAP schemes to sync users.

I dont believe we are using LDAP for the names, i have already changed their names in AD/exchange and they havnt not changed on the phones, and i believe we create each user manually in CUCM.

Hi,

You can also try to update lines through Bulk by exporting lines and importing them back. Working on a spreadsheet could be easier than going phone by phone to change lines appearance.
