My new company has their VG`s in the basement comms room . The idea is that the analogue port will be run up to the floors 15+ via teh building cabling structure other projects put the VG`s on the floor concerned. In the back of mind I`m sure there is a cable limit from the VG to phone, fax of 100m or so - Is this correct ?

We've got voice running over half a mile off a VG224 over normal voice copper pairs (Not Cat5).
According to the data sheet, a VG224 can support 3000 ft with 26 AWG
I don't think you'll have a problem....
