Is there a way of seeing if a user is busy via the cucm? I know I can ring it but I want to view the status

Hello @james crowley
Configure BLF no ? and via RTMT you can view devices status I think.

If you utilize BLF Speed Dial, for example, by configuring extension 5001 as a BLF Speed Dial on your phones, you’ll see a red light indicating that the user is busy when 5001 is on a call.
Is that the functionality you’re looking for?

If users are in Webex, you can see the status of the phone number assigned to them. I use this often so I don't have to reprogram a button on my phone to check their status.
I also needed access to "see" what the user sees in order to support calls so we purchase licensing from Uplinx Software. It's about $600 for a 3 year license but has really helped us with remote support. I can see what users do on their phone in real time so it removes any communication issues for our support tickets. Using the app, I discovered that users are able to long press a button programmed with a speed dial or BLF and program their own speed dial on it. It does not show in CUCM and any programming done in CUCM doesn't override what they have done. This is an undocumented feature that we opened a TAC case on and was told it's working as designed.

Not to go off topic, but the ability to configure those speed dials has been around since 2018 and it's documented
