Hi,
Our receptionist voicemail is setup so that if he is not attending the calls the caller is greeted with a company message. The message instructions are clear but most people don't listen to it. The message states that if they know the party extension to dial it or say the name of the person. That part is clear, the issue that we have is when the caller needs to leave a message to the receptionist. So the caller either says his name or dials her extension, and the message is looped. If the caller does one of these two options the message will repeat, saying if you know you party extension please dial it or say their name. Most callers don't wait to hear the part were it says to wait until the end of the message to leave a voicemail to the receptionist.
Is there a way to fix this? besides changing the greeting message? We would like to keep the company message first, and then say that if the need to leave a message to the receiptionist to wait until the end of the message.
We have another phone that we could use to direct the call to his phone, if that's even possible. For example, callers calls company phone number, which goes to ext. 101, can it be directed to ext. 102 (receptionist extension) when at the desk?
Any ideas will be appreciate it.
Phone: Cisco 7942
Thank you

Rather then forwarding the call to her voicemail directly you can forward it to a call handler that plays the greeting and accepts caller input and if caller enters receptionists' extension it then goes to her voicemail with personal greeting.

Thanks Chris,
This sounds like a good way to solve our problem. I am not familiar with the Cisco Unity Connection (v7.0.2) but think I found some instructions from another post that might help me.
Does this seems to be the correct way to go about it? You posted an answer here:
