Hello VoIP-Gurus!
Can you give me a short "translation" which numbers will be handled and how they will be modified with the translation rules below?
voice translation-rule 10
rule 1 / \(^.*\) / / 0\1 / type subscriber subscriber
rule 2 / \(^.*\) / / 00\1 / type national national
rule 3 / \(^.*\) / / 000\1 / type international international
I do not understand which numbers will be handled with this rules.
Thank's in advance!
Regards,
DrMxxxxx

Hi
Since your translation rules include a match on the 'type' element, you have to specify that in your test pattern:
e.g.
test voice translation-rule 10 00713294xxxxxx type national

Hi,
This document explains very well voice translation rules, wildcard and wildcard combinations:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk652/tk90/technologies_tech_note09186a0080325e8e.shtml
Rule 1 will prefix a 0 to any digit followed by none or more ocurrences and type subscriber. Rule 2 and 3 duplicate with rule 1.
Hope to help, please remember to rate the post if it does.
Kind regards,
- Adrian.

Great link Adrian! +5
I just want to point out that the "test translation rule" command is your friend.
You can configure tons of rules and test them out prior to applying them to any dial-peers to get more familiar with how they work.

+5 Aaron..
Aaron just answered it for you, it was on the tip of my hand...:)
You need to specify the "type" in your test command as suggested by Aaron
