We're using 7975s and a few users would like some wireless headsets.  Does anyone know where I can find some?

Only two makers do wireless headsets not requiring a lifter: Plantronics and Jabra. Both do work well, both are quite expensive, then you can research yourself what would be your favorite.

We use/recommend Plantronics.  There are several wireless models.  The models we have used for customers are:

CS70N. This is an "over the ear" model that was $329.95 list price when I last looked.

C361N. This is an "over the dome" (i.e. actually has an arm that goes over the crown of your head. List at the time I tested was $349.95

Both of these require the handset lifter (part HL10) ($79.95 last I checked).

You can see these and more by going here:

http://www.plantronics.com/north_america/en_US/productfinder/usage.jsp

1. Select the option "I want to look up compatibility by manufacturer make and model (non-bluetooth, non-3.5mm connector)" and click "Continue to Next Step"

2. Set the phone manufacturer to Cisco and the model to 7975 (or 7975G).  Click on "Continue to Next Step".

3. You will have a list of headsets compatible with the phone you selected in step 2. You can further refine this by setting a filter to only show "wireless".

Now you have the wireless headsets that are available and compatible with the phone in step 2.

Considering that the 7975 supports "electronic lifter", I recommend against buying a mechanical handset lifter.

No argument here.

Hi there,

Just thought i might throw this in to add to the good info from Paolo and Bill

The feature is called HHC (Headset Hookswitch Control) with Cordless Headsets  (Plantronics and Jabra) where the user will be able to answer calls from  the Headset itself without the use of a Handset Lifter. We use quite a few of these setups and they are really awesome and far cleaner. For Plantonics the CS55 is well priced and works great with the HHC

For Plantronics;

With the use  of an Adaptor Part # APC-4 (called the HHC Adaptor) which plugs into  the Aux Port on the base of the phone allows calls to be answered and  disconnected via the Headset without the use of the Lifter

HHC adapter  (APC-4) Product Information

http://plantronics.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/plantronics.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=9880&p_created=1207353166

For  GN Netcom/Jabra (see attached)

Cheers!

Rob
