Hello Community,

Can you please assist on the above question? Is g726 supported and if yes why such a high-bitrate codec is not set as default on the CUCM settings?

thanks in advance

From Data sheet:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6788/vcallcon/ps556/data_sheet_c78-652908.html

Codec support for automated bandwidth selection:  G.711 (mu-law and a-law), G.722, G.722.1, G.723.1, G.728, G.729A/B,  Global System for Mobile-Enhanced Full Rate (GSM-EFR), Global System for  Mobile-Full Rate (GSM-FR) Internet Low Bitrate Codec (iLBC), iSAC,  wideband audio (proprietary 16-bit resolution; 16-kHz sampled audio),  and Advanced Audio codec (AAC) for use with Cisco TelePresence devices

However the codec supported between devices is driven by what the endpoint supports.

Think of G726 as old technology hence little support.

Chris
