Ethernet fault signalling

Hello team,

I have a concern regarding a request from one customer to enable link integrity/Fault signalling.

Basically they subscribe for 1G link from point A to B. What they want is , If the port at location A somehow goes down the far end port  of the service should go down/shutdown automatically.

I am wondering if there is a way to do so. We are using carrier ethernet network.

Can the carrier Ethernet be made transparent enough for a frame-encapsulated protocol such as UDLD (in aggressive mode) or LACP to be used between customer switchports?
If the customer ports are routed ports, can BFD be used to detect lack of two-way communication?
