Redundant Network for legacy IP equipment

Hello everyone,

I would like your suggestions to create a redundant network where legacy IP based network equipment will be connecting to Cisco routers. Legacy network elements are not fully supporting OSPF summarization configuration, they can be configured with OSPF but area summarization or stub configuration cannot be done?

In your opinion, how do we configure Cisco routers in order to get full redundant network reachability to legacy IP equipment with less number of routing updates?

any sample configuration would be highly appreciated.

best regards

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

Dear Balaji,

many thanks for your Great support towards the community, I have the following concern to have your best opinion:

1- end devices are not Cisco devices and they are running without any IOS

2- end devices support only basic OSPF configuration

3- two GNE devices from two different locations will be part of OSPF area 0.0.0.0 and 0.0.0.10 where as remote devices will be part of OSPF area 0.0.0.10

4- how to configure the Cisco routers so that end devices will be getting the summary routes only, this will help to keep end devices routing database at their minimum level

your valuable feedback with sample configuration would be highly appreciated.

best regards
