broadcast on router

  1. Hi guys a small question 

I m having Cisco asr router 1002.. Two places I m providing my service using mpls links from asr one port configured vlan s and passed tat vlans link to mpls MUX ... Which is maintained other service provider ... Few days I m facing issue like link down of mpls ....service provider is saying tat broadcast is generated from my end .... Is tat possible a router generates broadcast

Hi,

I don't think router generates broadcast , but can request for arp for the destination peer if that is not available.

R1 (10.1.1.1)---> (10.1.1.2)R2..so if 10.1.1.2 is not having the arp on R1 end due to some issue on link or at R2 end ..it could request for arp packet..

I believe in the above case it can send arp packet request or broadcast..

I will check and let you know based on my research on the same..
