Hi, I’m having problems configuring an EoMPLS connection between a Cisco ASR900 and a Cisco ASR9000.
I would like to transport the vlan 14 (rewriting it to vlan 200 at the far end).
I never had any problems between IOS devices or IOS-XE devices but between an ASR9000 (5.1.3) and an ASR900 (15.4(2)S1) it seems not to be working.
At the ASR9000 side I have the error "Reason: Invalid context 0x51478694 or container type 0"
At the ASR900 side I have the error "Last error: Remote peer access circuit is down"
Have you any suggestions?
Thankyou

Hello,
You can establish the PW between the two attachment circuits with mismatched VLAN tags using the command under the ASR900 EVC
remote circuit id 101
As below:
ASR9000:
l2vpn
pw-class gia1
encapsulation mpls
protocol ldp
transport-mode vlan
xconnect group pwhe
p2p numero1
interface TenGigE0/0/2/1.1
neighbor ipv4 117.27.118.186 pw-id 50
pw-class gia1
interface TenGigE0/0/2/1.1 l2transport
encapsulation dot1q 200
ASR901:
pseudowire-class num1
encapsulation mpls
no control-word
!
interface GigabitEthernet0/1
mtu 1504
no ip address
negotiation auto
service instance 1 ethernet
encapsulation dot1q 14
xconnect 117.27.118.185 50 encapsulation mpls pw-class num1
remote circuit id 200
Solution 2:
Also if you need to do the rewrite yourself, you can use the rewrite ingress tag translate 1-1 from the ASR9000 side
please update us by the status
thanks

Hi,
unfortuantely i discovred that the command " remote circuit id 200" isn't available under the EVC Xconnect configuration on ASR900 routers.
could you please try the second solution and inform u, by only use the below command under the ASR9000 AC
rewrite ingress tag translate 1-1 dot1q 14 symmetric
then remove the rewite-tag command from the PW-class, also the rewrite command from the ASR900 EVC to be as below :
ASR9000:
l2vpn
pw-class gia1
encapsulation mpls
protocol ldp
xconnect group pwhe
p2p numero1
interface TenGigE0/0/2/1.1
neighbor ipv4 117.27.118.186 pw-id 50
pw-class gia1
interface TenGigE0/0/2/1.1 l2transport
encapsulation dot1q 200
rewrite ingress tag translate 1-1 dot1q 14 symmetric
ASR900
pseudowire-class num1
encapsulation mpls
no control-word
!
interface GigabitEthernet0/1
mtu 1504
no ip address
negotiation auto
service instance 1 ethernet
encapsulation dot1q 14
xconnect 117.27.118.185 50 encapsulation mpls pw-class num1

Hi,
thankyou for you answer. Your suggestions are very helpful for me. However, the problem remain.
See above for my solution.
Thankyou

Update: I'm trying to setup an L2VPN with xconnect between an ASR9000 (5.1.3) and an ASR900 (15.4(2)S1).
I have these errors:
1. At the ASR9000 side I have the error "Reason: Invalid context 0x51478694 or container type 0"
2. At the ASR900 side I have the error "Last error: Remote peer access circuit is down"
I made new tests in lab. The network is very simple. The ASR's are connected back to back. So I'm using explicit-null.
I understand that the message n.1 is not an error. I find that also in a working EoMPLS connection between an ASR9000 and an ASR1000...
The error number 2 told me that the remote peer access circuit is down. In my case the remote circuit is perfectly UP!
The verification test is made using a LSP Ping for VCCV, that is basically the same of "ping mpls ipv4 ...".
You can see that using the command"show l2vpn xconnect detail":
...
VCCV CV type 0x2 0x2
(LSP ping verification) (LSP ping verification)
...
This verification test fail in my lab.
So all my problems seems to be related to MPLS label binding.
Router is unable to reach the EoMPLS end point.
In my new lab I have this configuration:
l2vpn pw-class gia1 encapsulation mpls protocol ldp transport-mode vlan ! ! xconnect group pwhe p2p numero1 interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0/6.1 neighbor ipv4 192.168.201.1 pw-id 50 pw-class gia1 ! ! ! ! mpls oam ! mpls ldp router-id 192.168.200.1 address-family ipv4 label local advertise interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0/5 interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0/5.1 explicit-null ! ! ! !
192.168.201.1 is the tunnel endpoint. The problem here is that I have an "Unlabelled" instead of "Exp-Null-v4"!

Failed to lookup forwarding info for IPv4 prefix 192.168.201.1/32
But the 192.168.201.1 is reachable as you can see above.
Any suggestions?
Thankyou

Ok, I found a workaround.
Since ASR9000 refuse to use explicit-null notification from ASR 900 I use a static label.
All is working now but I think there is an IOS bug here.
mpls static interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0/5 address-family ipv4 unicast local-label 30000 allocate per-prefix 192.168.201.1/32 forward path 1 nexthop GigabitEthernet0/0/0/5 192.168.210.2 out-label exp-null !
Now the forwarding table is right, MPLS PING works and the L2VPN tunnel goes UP.

Dear Team Network !
I see your config , I see problem at here
mpls ldp router-id 192.168.200.1 address-family ipv4 label local advertise interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0/5 interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0/5.1 explicit-null
=> You have set interface LDP under "advertise"
you fix it ( set inerface LDP under " mpls ld " ) as below
mpls ldp router-id 192.168.200.1 address-family ipv4 label local advertise explicit-null
interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0/5
interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0/5.1
