Hi,

Could you please let me know how is 3850 performance for MPLS.

I am planning to deploy 3850 stack switches in our network as P.

But would like to know if you see any performance  issue.

Thanks

Saurav

3650/3850 does not have enough memory and CPU power.

The commands might be accepted but it won't cope.

Get a 9300/9300X for better performance.

Thanks Leo.

As per recommendation , you think 3850 is not even capable of acting as P router in network ?

Thanks

Saurav

Hi Balaji,

I have opened a new thread

https://community.cisco.com/t5/mpls/mpls-on-cisco-3850/m-p/4574578#M23767

Below is HLD. Purpose of cisco stack switches is use as P only and provide more ports to patch Mikrotik device. We are small ISP.

You are a "small ISP" and you insist on using a 3850 as PE, a platform known for very conservative memory and CPU?

Good luck with that.

Hi Leo,

Company already bought this switch and I have already advised them limitation of this switch.

For time being they want to go ahead with this switch.

So, at this point of time I have to go what we have. My plan is to use as P only rather than PE.
