Kindly please refer to the diagram on the url. Now, please refer to the configuration of Rapid and Pivrnec routers. RIP is configured and Loopback IPs,WAN IPs are declared but in Rapid router "ip route 158.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 Null0" and Pivrnec router "ip route 69.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 Null0" are used instead of advertising these using the network command. My question is why are these networks not advertised as loopback IPs and WAN IPs are advertised using network command. Kindly please help me out of this...

Try adding the "default-metric" command under the RIP process. This command is required for any external routes (in your case static routes) to be redistributed in RIP.

I'm not sure I understand your question. You are right by saying that these routes could have been generated using a network statement. My guess is that they wanted to show alternate ways of doing things. Could you clarify.
