Hello. I am trying to do some SRTE simulations and I am using both IOS XR and IOS XE.
With IOS XR, I was able to set the color of routes coming from a CPE by using inbound route-policy.
However whenever I try this with IOS XE, nothing happens. What I need to do is to apply the route-map outbound to remote peer (i.e. route reflector). Whenever I apply the color set outbound to remote VPNv4 peer, the remote PE receives the route with the appropriate color. Coloring the prefix inbound from the CPE has no effect.
route-map COLOR_RED, permit, sequence 10
Match clauses:
Set clauses:
extended community Color:20
Policy routing matches: 0 packets, 0 bytes
Is this really a limitation of IOSXE and only allowed in IOSXR or I'm missing something? Thanks in advance.

Hi @jpl861 ,
Setting the color extended community inbound on the PE is indeed not supported in IOS-XE. The recommended approach is to set it outbound on the VPNv4 session, as you mentioned.
