Hello,
I'm trying to configure several L3 interfaces on a 7600 attached to a Catalyst 6500.
One possible way to do that would be to deploy a IEEE 802.1Q trunk between both and to define L3 interfaces in the 7600 for every VLAN.
Rather, the customer would prefer to use a single interface and to define multiple subinterfaces.
But at the documentation: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/hw/routers/ps368/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a0080161137.html#wp1040486
it warns to "Configure subinterfaces only to support MPLS".
I'm not intending to support MPLS on this connection, just ordinary traffic from adjacent routers and OSPF.
Does it mean that subinterfaces are intended for MPLS traffic only ?
If so, the only option would be to deploy L3 vlan interfaces.

GRE tunnel interface between 7600 and Cat6500 would do the trick. You would need IP address at both end to build tunnel.
GRE tunnel would also work if you intent to run VPN MPLS but need to prepare VRF table and routing instant.
