ACS 5.6 Backups

Hi All,

For the ACS Backups - I see there are two sections you can configure this. In the main GUI of ACS, under Operation / Dist System Management and also there is a section when launching Monitoring and Reports (Under Data Management).

Are these for backing up two separate areas of the ACS? Does Monitoring and Reports section only backup the actual histrionic log/reporting data?

Does the main GUI backup section deal only with the Device / OS configs? Is there any overlap at all or do both sections need to be backed up?

Thanks

Hello GRANT3779,

Both backups are pertaining to specific sections. Backup Data option under Distributed System Management is related to backing up either ACS configuration data  (policies and rules) or ADE-OS configuration (IP address assignment and basic connectivity setup done initially).

On the contrary, Backup option under "Monitoring Configuration > System Operations > Data Management > Removal and Backup" is related to backup of logs. It can either be done in parts (incremental) or you can take full backup of the logs
