Hello everyone ,

I would like to ensure that i will not lose connectivity of endpoints when i will remove License and import a new one .

Our customer has an ISE Deployment and had Mobility License which is going to expired .

So we renew licenses and Cisco provide us with Base , Apex and Plus Licenses since Mobility Licenses are not ordable any more as i Know .

So the Question is this :

What will happen in users and endpoint that are already authenticated and authorized during the process of removing the mobility license and until importing the new 3 Licenses ?

I am sure new requests will not be able to managed during this period but i want to ensure that the already authenticated users wil not have any issue .

I had tried to import the new licenses without deleting the old one but i get an error that

mobility and base license cannot co-exist in one implementation .

Please for your advise .

Thank You ,

Palaiolgos .

There will not be any impact to the existing sessions.

Ok that is ok but now i face another problem .

I cannot delete mobility license cause i have device admin license installed and this needs a base license to work so i am stuck in a loop where i am not able to delete or import license cause of interaction between them .

Unfortunately neither i or the customer has back up file of device admin license in order to delete it and re-import it .

Is anyone know any procedure to export the license file from Cisco ISE ?

Thank You ,

Simply put, you cannot export the license from ISE. However, try this out to get the existing license:

You can obtain your software license at this site: https://tools.cisco.com/SWIFT/LicensingUI/Quickstart#.
Once you arrive at this site, you will need to enter in your Cisco.com user ID and your password to access this site.
Please follow the below steps to resend the license file:
1- Log in License Registration Portal using your Cisco.com ID
2- Under “Manage”, go to either “Licenses” or “Devices” tab.
3- If the device/license in question is listed, select the device, then “Actions” then “Resend”.
4- If the device/license in question is not listed, do one of the following:
a. Resend license without adding the device (not available for all product families):
- Without selecting any device, in the “Actions” menu, select “Resend”.
- Follow the steps to complete the resend function
b. Add the device then resend the license:
- Under “Devices” tab, select “Add device”
- Provide the requested information on the screen.
- Tip: the “Help” link will provide guidance on which device identifier you should select.

Note: the CCO ID they use to login should be attached to the contract to see the appropriate licenses.

If none of the above works, then reach out to Cisco Entitlement relations team to get the license file generated again. Please keep the Sales Order handy.
