Campus Manager - Cannot connect to ANI Server

Hi,

I think this is well trodden ground, but I am having issues getting Campus Manager running.  Topology Servers version is 5.1 and I have java version 1.6.0_05 installed.

The Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\log trace file gives the following error:

Unknown Error...Unknown Error...
network: Cache entry not found [url: http://cwserver:1741/JSP/CAMPUS/htdocs/images/campus/fatalerror_32.gif

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Hi Liam,

-is this happening from the client side or the server side?

-can you post the error screenshot again since the link is not opening

-also it would be better if we got the full trace error.

-provide the pdshow output.

This is happening from the client side....

pdshow output is:

Process= ANIServer
State  = Running with busy flag set
Pid    = 18156
RC     = 0
Signo  = 0
Start  = 12/7/2010 4:01:54 AM
Stop   = Not applicable
Core   = Not applicable
Info   = ANIServer started.

I've attached a screen shot of error and the latest full log file contents

3 things you could quickly check:

    1) are these TCP ports reachable from client to the server:

        TCP 42342

        TCP 43242

    >> you can easily test it with e.g. telnet 42342

    if they are unreachable, check for any firewall on the client and server the could block the communication (e.g windows firewall, virus scanner with embedded firewall, etc.) or check Access-Lists on the gateway, etc..

    2) is the hostname of your LMS server resolvable from the client

    >> just ping the servers' hostname

    if not, check your DNS or add the name to the clients hosts file

    3) if the above is ok, check for the correct Java version and just use the one provided with LMS

    >> it is available on the LMS server in NMSROOT\htdocs\plugin

as mentioned by mermel,

those points need to be checked,

also try to check the newtwork settings from the JAVA and try it with all the proxy options there.

All Mermel's points are already in place - resolvable hostname, correct version of Java running and no firewall between client and server.

Java network setting are to use the browser settings.

can you try the direct connection option from the JAVA network settings?
