Cisco IOS Software Activation License via console

Hallo,

I'd like to activate the license of an ISR router via console. The instructions given require that I first copy the license to the router's flash memory using the copy command and TFTP server. However, this is quite complicated for me (I get errors each time but I know it is because the router is not in the network just yet) but since I have a console connection to the router, is there another way to go about activating this license, preferably using the console?

What model ? most of the new model have USB, So copy the License to  USB and connect the USB and Activate.

Will device going to connect to network, you can Evaluation and Right to Use Licenses  (then conenct to network and register also works)

Thanks for the response. I have copied the .lic file to the flash memory of ISR (Cisco C1116-4PLTEEAWE Chassis) but the license install command does not work.

R1#license install flash:xxx.lic
^
% Invalid input detect

The prompts for license command are as follows:

R1#license ?
smart Smart licensing

Kindly let me know if there is another method to reactivate the license. Thanks.

From the link you have sent, where exactly are the commands to use? I don't think license activation should be so complicated like Cisco is making it to be. It is really frustrating. Here is the output of 'sh lic status' just in case it helps clarify my issue further.

New system all about smart License, there is BOT or virtual assistance of License can help you, if you think complicated.

Make sure the device has an internet connection to connect to the cisco smart License :
