Hallo,
When I reload ISR1100 v16.10.0b, I get the following error as it reboots '%IOS_LICENSE_IMAGE_APPLICATION-3-FAILED: license request failed'. The output for sh license summary is as follows:

Smart Licensing is ENABLED
License Reservation is ENABLED

I updated the security license offline and it worked well. I'd like to know why the Application license failed. I'll appreciate your help.

@balaji.bandi The router is operating offline, so the solution you provided doesn't work. Is there an application license available that I can install? I can't quite see any in the smart licensing portal.
@marce1000 Thanks for the info. Could that cause the router not to go online? I have configured all my interfaces and they all seem to be correct but the router doesn't go online, which is why I was wondering whether licensing could be the issue.

I could previously ssh the device but then just for my own practise, I deleted the configs and reconfigured with the same configs but now I can't ssh anymore. Which is why I cannot quite troubleshoot where the problem is apart from this 'app license fail' message.

- If you start from scratch don't forget to generate a valid ssh-configuration :

You can use Right to use License and make it online, when device online you can register with smart License Server.

R1(config)#crypto key generate rsa modulus 4096

- What error do you get when trying to connect through SSH ?

It times out:
Network error:Connection timed out

- That can have several causes , e.g : local firewalling on your PC , an intermediate firewall which blocks access , or invalid (routing) configuration on the ISR. Also check the logs on the ISR when this is tried. What is the vty-part of the running configuration ? And last but not least does telnet work ?
