Java virtual machine for LMS bundle

Hi

Ive built a new workstation for myself (win xp + sp 2 + patches). Unfortuanetly when I try to access our ciscoworks server, it installs the java plugin but then chrashes when I try to get into the ciscoworks proper (beyond the login screen).

Ciscoworks is an LMS bundle:

CD One 5th edition (ver 2.1)

CMF 2.1

campus manager 3.2

THe release notes for this states that the microsoft JVM must be installed on the client workstation. However as you probably all know the microsoft jvm no longer exists so I cant get it.

So how do I get my nice new winxp box to work with my ciscoworks server?

thanks

Norman

Hi norman,

for this , u have to download J2RE from the following site:

http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_manual.jsp

Once u install j2re, u will have the Java enabled on the ciscoworks server. You can see it on the front screen which will say Java - Enabled. make sure you enable cookies on the internet explorer. Once you do these things, u will be able to login to the ciscoworks without any problem. i too had similar problems, but did this and made it working..

hope this helps.. all the best.. rate replies if found useful..

As I remember a Win XP client is not supported for LMS 2.1. I think your are right and your problem is browser related. You should use IE 5.5 with SP2 (what would not be possible on XP...). Try MOZILLA I think this should work.
