LMS2.5, Ciscoview configure port getting java.lang.NullPointerException

Hi,

When using CiscoView 6.1 within Ciscoworks (LMS2.5 all up to date) when I click on a switch port I can monitor it but cannot configure it - I get the error:

Failed to create dialog due to java.lang.NullPointerException

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Robin.

What type of switch is this? What code is it running?

Does this occur on all switches?

After some more investigating it would appear that the SNMP RO is set which enables the monitor option. I then set the SNMP RW and the configure option appears (all the device credential reports check out ok). However trying to use the configure option causes the problem... It would appear to be across several different types of switches. Some switches where the SNMP RW as been picked up seem to work.

Should I be waiting for a some kind of database update to take place or something along those lines?

Thanks.

When you open CiscoView in the down left corner there is a button Preferences where you can change SNMP settings, try this and tell if it is successfully or not
