Hi,
I have a Cisco ASR 9010 Router with a total memory of 4G. I often get the following alarm:
RP/0/RSP1/CPU0:Jul 7 15:19:11.306 : wdsysmon[457]: %HA-HA_WD-4-MEMORY_ALARM : Memory threshold crossed: Minor with 409.586MB free
RP/0/RSP1/CPU0:Jul 7 15:19:11.306 : wdsysmon[457]: %HA-HA_WD-6-TOP_MEMORY_USERS_INFO : Top 5 consumers of system memory (419416 Kbytes free):

After it stays active it is cleaned by itself with the following notification:
RP/0/RSP1/CPU0:Jul 7 15:26:58.208 : wdsysmon[457]: %HA-HA_WD-4-MEMORY_ALARM : Memory threshold crossed: Normal with 412.000MB free
Is there any way to free memory space without affecting the service?
Thanks,
Aridy

- Not sure about your question, you may also want to check the current software version the device is on, sometimes later releases can resolve such issues.

Hi Marce,
Thanks for your reply. My IOS is Cisco IOS XR Software, Version 5.1.3[Default].
Is it considered an old version and if so, what new version do i need?
Thanks,
Aridy

- Then it would certainly be advisable to upgrade :
https://software.cisco.com/download/home/282414851/type/280805694/release/7.0.2
(take the suggested release, but study release notes and upgrade guidelines too)
