Hello everyone! Im doing a beginner school project and I need to pick the router, switch, and NAS server for a small business with 6 offices with voip phones and computers and printers, with a wireless access point inside and outside the building. We have learned a lot about configuring the routers and switches, but they haven’t taught us much about the actual hardware needed for this equipment.
One thing that’s confusing me is on the 2901 page it says “voice and video capable digital signal processor (DSP) slots” and I sadly don’t even really know what that is, or if it’s required for voip phones on the network. And does the router need PoE for VOIP? I need to pick EVERY piece of equipment needed for this down to the server rack and cabling, and I’m feeling a bit lost. Any help would be appreciated.
