In my enviorment i want to delpoy thirdparty Network Managment system on Hyper-v for SNMP monitorning.

For high Availability i want to install Primay and Standby Netowrk Management  Server on Hyper-V Cluster.  we will use share storage for both servers(Primary/Standby) which hepls to achieve high availbility automatically between two Servers.

i wan to confirm which IP address Will be used by Netwok management system to recieve SNMP Trap ?

subnet: 10.10.10.0/24

1- Cluster IP Address : 10.10.10.1

2- Primary NMS IP address: 10.10.10.2

3- Secondary NMS Ip address:10.10.10.3

Note: one node will be active in Cluster.  please share your experience on the above.

thanks in advance.

Hi,

I believe you should use 10.10.10.1 because after that hyper-v cluster should forward SNMP messages to Primary active server (or standby in case Primary is not avaiable).
