Problems creating alarms and alerts in CiscoWorks LMS 3.2 (DFM)

Hi,

I have been checking how create alarms in device fault manager but I don't understand very good this topic and I have the following questions:

1.)How can I create alarms that permit the following actions because in Notification services of Device Fault Manager can't be created:

Notify when an interface which is connected to a server changes to shutdown.
Notify when an uplink interface changes to shutdown.
Notify when an interface has CRC errors.
Notify when an uplink interface has CRC errors.

2)How can I delimit alarms and alerts in notification services of device fault manager because if I create only one event for unresponsive, alarms are generated for this reason and for others causes as high utilization, insuficient free memory, etc.?

If an interface is in an up state when the DFM discovery is done you will be alerted when it goes down. or if someon put it in shut

This doesn't work for switch access ports though. I don't think there is an easy way to create a "new" group of ports where you will get an alert.

For an uplink you will be alerted when it goes down

For the CRC errors you will get an alert when the threshold for x crc per poll period is exceeded
