Many Thanks, the procedure with USB has been successful. However, I find it strange that in case of user / password loss it is necessary to reload the IOS-XR without the possibility of restoring the configuration through other less destructive ways.

Bye

If i perform a factory rest on a Cisco N540-24Q8L2DD-SYS will it remove all of the license files that are on the device? Trying not to create another problem for myself.

Would it just be easier to wipe the configuration?  If so what are the commands for erasing or write erasing the start-up config and running config etc... ??  Thanks!
