RME 3.x export

I'm attempting to import my switches into Qos Policy Manager in preparation for our Qos deployment. Unforunately we have RME ver 4 which exports it's DCR in a later version to which QPM cannot understand. I've tried converting the CSV file myself to the previous 2.0 standard without success.

Could someone with RME ver 3.x perform a device export (remove your device details) and either attach to post or email me? I really only need the top section including column headings to check.

I'd really appreciate any help. I promise to rate helful posts.

I have not heard a definitive date, but it looks like no earlier than December of this year.

If you have DFM 2.0 installed, you should have an NMSROOT/ImportFiles/sampleRMEExportFormat.txt file which is in CSV version 2.0 format.

Since it might be useful to others, I put together a quick utility to convert CSV 3.0 exports to CSV 2.0 format. Since the fields do not line up one-to-one, there is a chance the utility will need slight modification to work for all users (i.e. with regard to TACACS+ credentials). But it should do the job.

Note: this utility is distributed with no warranty or support under the BSD Open Source license.

Yes, I use TACACS+ :)

Never mind, I modded the script and it works a treat!

Thanks

Can you share it here?

The script supported use of TACACS+ credentials out of the box. The algorithm would put the primary username and password from the version 3.0 file into the TACACS username and password fields respectively in the version 2.0 file. A modification would only be needed if you wanted these values to go into the Enable TACACS fields.

Turns out after wasting hours importing my switches into QPM that version 3.2.3 supports 3750's, but not 3750's with PoE. All of ours are PoE switches!

Appearently QPM ver 4 will be released soon. Any idea when this will be jclarke?

Thanks

Do these 3750 PoE have a different SysObjectID?

Different from the ones mentioned here?

There are A LOT of 3750s. The newer ones featuring PoE have a sysObjectID ending in 602, 603, 778, or 779.
