Scheduled Config collection job is failing, LMS 3.2

Fantaw Tesema

Usually the configuration files are fetched once every week. Lately, the Scheduled Config collection job is failing for all the devices. I have tried to “sync Archive” from LMS 3.2 on some devices but nothing happens. The switches out there are C3750, 2960, 2950, 3550, 3650 and some routers.

The server is Win Ser 2003.

Have visited the links below without finding a solution

I will appreciate any suggestion.

According to the pdshow, ConfigMgmtServer is down.  That would explain why your config jobs are not running.  Post the ConfigMgmtServer.log and dcmaservice.log.

I am working on the remote location in these days. ConfigMgmtServer.log is almost 270mb and can’t copy the whole file to local PC.  I have attached dcmaservice.log, (private message). Will send the ConfigMgmtServer.log file next time when I will have local access to CW server.

PS: I had actually restarted the ConfigMgmtServer about a week or two ago (even to day) but after some minutes the process state in CM indicates “Administrator has shut down this server”.

Config collection fetch job stopped working on 15th may 2011.

Thank you!

Tesema

If you cannot send the files publicly, then please open a TAC service request and attach the files there.

Sorry for my late reply. I will open a TAC. Thanks Joseph!

When there is a solution, I may post the result here.

Tesema

Hello,

Here is the solution I got from TAC. This is the solution for the particularly mentioned problem.

Stop the deamon manager by: net stop crmdmgtd

While the deamon is down stat: netstat -anob

Delete these two files:

NMSROOT\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\lib\ctmregistry

NMSROOT\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\lib\ctmregistry.backup

Restart the Ciscoworks deamon manager: net start crmdmgtd

I waited for about 12 minutes and then checked the status of ConfigMgmtServer which is now up.

Those deleted two ctmregistry files are also regenerated. Things are working now.

Greetings

Tesema
