SNMP monitoring of singular AP on EWC

RFC_2549
Level 1
Level 1

Hello,

we have an EWC and the need of monitoring via SNMP the APs that are registered under it, at the moment we set up the configuration for the controller but is it possible to monitor the single APs via SNMP? It seems that the SNMP settings are not configurable on the APs under the EWC, and it makes sense since usually the purpose of a controller is to configure setting from it and not from the APs, but I was thinking that maybe the SNMP settings were "inherited" on the all APs by the controller. Is there a way to monitor the singe APs? There is a Cisco guide that states in an explicit way what we can monitor via SNMP on the EWC? I fond some documents but in none of them I can read clearly that the AP are/are not monitorable via SNMP

Thank You and kind regards

If you like to Monitor AP, that will be a huge task. What are you looking to Monitor AP? Most of the Information related to AP can be viewed in the Controller. Are you looking at AP going up and down? (Then, you can monitor the switch port.)

Or you can set up events to syslog for AP going up and down.

EWC have some Limitations, not like the full-blown WLC Controller.
