syslog server

I am looking for an enterprise class syslog server. Can anybody recommend something they are using?

Here is what I need it to perform.

Collect syslog from all network devices, not just Cisco

Be able to alert by user defined variables

Must be searchable

We use Kiwi today but it is a very limited application. I need something very robust. Thanks all.

For long term retention of logs you might evaluate Corner Bowl Log Manager. Assuming they offer an evaluation period.

We have just purchased it but I have not had an opportunity to see it for myself. It is being introduced into our company by a seperate technical group.

I use Solarwinds Orion SYSLOG (not Kiwi) and this works well for real time, but SQL retention is confined to 7 days due to high message volume.
