I install CiscoWorks SNMS 1.5 and all updates - IDUv5 + CiscoWorks Update 1 + IDUv11.

SyslogAnalazer don’t work correctly:

When I try generate “Standard reports“ (Select Essentials > Reports > Syslog Analysis > Standard Reports), appear message:

Invalid Record received from Server, Discarding record.

Recommended Action

Please retry the same operation.

I try re-install CiscoWorks SNMS 1.5 with updates IDUv5 + CiscoWorks Update 1, this message appear again.

In process status (Admin > Server Configuration>

Process Management > Process Status), SyslogAnalazer don't have any errors.

Please check on the following aspects,

1. What is the Windows 2000 version?

(is it English version?)

2. What is the locale settings? Input locales?

(it should be English)

3. Make sure that all language settings is English.

CiscoWorks SNMS 1.5 does not support any other language besides English and Japanese.

This is documented in the Installation (Prerequisites) Guide.

So please make sure that The Windows 2000 version is English and make sure

that the "locale" settings is also English. I suspect this is the cause of the problem.

I have same problem. I installed RME 3.5 with Syslog Analyzer 3.5 IDUv5 + CiscoWorks Update 1 + IDUv10 on W2K Server SP4 (English version). Locale settings - English. All language settings is English.

Then I check syslog.log - it woked correctly - many new messages from routers and switches. For Example:

But, when I try generate "Standart reports" or any other - a recived same message:

I not used DNS for this equipment - only IP.

Try running Severity Level Summary instead of Standard Reports

Yes. When I running Severity Level Summary, firstly I selecting devices, then dates and finish.

The table is showing. There are many devices in this table with some messages. For example:

When I try click on any of messages groups - I get same messages:

When I simple changed locale setting - it doesn't work.

Than I reinstalled RME - it does work succesfull !
