PIX firewall connect to router - Link light not on

I try to connect the PIX501 firewall to our router(PortMaster Office Router) to test external connection but the Light not on in port 0.

I used cross cable (also try normal cable), also reboot the router. After the reboot, the light is on for a very very short period (10 or 20 secs) then off and never on again.

Does anyone know what happened? Any suggestions are welcome.

Are either the PIX or router interfaces shut down? If not that, then are they hard-set to speed-duplex? If one is set to 10, the other to 100, they will not come up.

If these do not resolve, try another device on each port (501 and router) to check status.
