ND Deployment with NDFC LAN and NDI

Hi everyone, i have a pair of questions about the next scenario:

- VXLAN EVPN Fabric Deployment from NDFC with two sites interconnected back to back between spines

- OOB Mgmt Network deployed with Nexus in NX-OS mode

- ND nodes deployed in one side

- Based on design and deployment recommendations described in Cisco guides, we need a external network between the data network interfaces of ND nodes and the Inband Managment of the fabric, also thats needed to deploy the ND cluster with the data communication between nodes.

My questions:

1. I am planning to connect MGmt and Data networks to the same OOB Switches using VLANs for separation, is that OK, i see taht option here Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (NDFC) Deployment Guide - Cisco?

2. Data network must be connected to each node in the fabric (spine and leafs) or only one or a pair of leafs are enough? How can I access the inband mgmt of the switches on the fabric from data interfaces of ND nodes (using SVI, Layer3 Port, Loopback)?, I have a macro diagram about the scenario (orange->mgmt, red->data), any aditional advice to take a look?

Hello Luis,

You can use a loopback interface to reach the switches through the underlay. Typically loopback0 in vrf default is used in NDFC VXLAN EVPN deployments, but I suppose you can create a new loopback just for management. If you want to use another vrf you will need to update the Discovery vrf. See the configuration guide:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/dcn/ndfc/1222/articles/ndfc-inband-management-and-oob-pnp/configuring-inband-management-and-out-of-band-pnp.html#_inband_management_and_inband_poap_in_data_center_vxlan_evpn_fabrics

Also, Cisco Live presentation BRKDCN-2988 "Design, Automate, and Manage VXLAN BGP EVPN Multi—Site with NDFC" has good information about Inband connectivity.

Hope that helps.

Thnaks a lot @Helena Cornic i reviewed the info of the session (only presentation now, i wii look the video also) now i want to recheck some aspects, if you or anyone else can help with that, thanks in advance:

1. On the DCI between two VXLAN EVPN fabrics in the Multisite enviroment, if using back to back connectivity between spines acting also as BGW, could you confirm that option A on the next image is recommended instead of option B?

2. For Switch Discovery (Adding Manually or using POAP) on the Data Center VXLAN EVPN Fabrics on each side, connectivity from data interface of ND nodes to the Inband Mgmt, i only need connectivity to a pair of leafs and not to all nodes of the fabric?

3. Any sugestion about which specific parameters on the each site VXLAN EVPN Fabric must be unique, im not so clear with that. I suppose BGP ASN,  Underlay Routing Loopback IP range, Uderlay VTEP Loopback IP range, Underlay Subnet IP range, Underlay RP Loopback IP range. But not sure about another parameters like Multicast Group Subnet, VRF Lite Subnet IP range, etc?

4. If External Network is extended between sites to have conenctivity from data interfaces on ND nodes to the seed switches on each site, can i use the same seed subnets and DHCP configuration for both sides?
