For development purposes, I am trying to run NSO 4.5 and 4.5.0.1 on macOS High Sierra, and each time I try to start ncs I get the error:
Daemon died status=134
If I start NCS in the foreground and verbose, I see it stop here:
Assertion failed: (ctx), function digest_update, file /BuildRoot/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/boringssl/boringssl-109.1.6/apple/crypto/digests.c, line 49.
Abort trap: 6
I can startup 4.4.2 on the same device fine.
Suggestions?

Same issue for me.
After upgrading to High Sierra using Cisco IT recommended process, firstly I noticed that the CommandLineTools was deleted and NSO 4.5 did not start. After installing CommandLineTools, when nso 4.5 was started from CLI, it stops with 'Deamon Died Status' with values 134, 139, 131.
I can use 4.4.2 version of NSO on the same machine after upgrade to High Sierra.

I tried this startup option with Mac High Sierra and NSO 4.5
ncs --verbose --foreground
I got this output at the end (nso did not start).
Assertion failed: (ctx), function digest_update, file /BuildRoot/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/boringssl/boringssl-109.1.6/apple/crypto/digests.c, line 49.
Abort trap: 6
When I did some google search, I happened to see this site. It appears to be a conflict between Erlang and Boringssl. https://github.com/elixir-lang/elixir/issues/6200
Thanks and regards.
