Wanted to upgrade NSO but if the process fails how can I revert back to the previous version.

Hello,
You can do a backup that you store in a safe place . You keep all the old nso install file in your environment. You install your new NSO version then stop the old nso version and start NSO using the newer version. It depend on your CDB size it can time .If something fails it means that NSO is not started so you have to just to start NSO again using the OLD version.
ncs-backup will help you to do a backup and also restore.

how is your installation ? VM or docker ?
best is restore from snapshot if VM or restore docker if the container backup done.

how would you take backup and restore it , including NEDs and conf files.
