Hi, 

Does the SFP-10G-LR only work with single mode fiber? 

And should the port led be orange when connecting the sfp to a switch?

Hi,

According to the following doc, that sfp works with single mode fibre.

Is the orange led on the port you have connected the sfp? it could be the port is in a disabled state.

Yes, single-mode fibre only.
