Cisco SFP Module in SFP+ Port?

Hi all, is there any way I could get any confirmation on whether if I can insert the Cisco SFP Module (GLC-LH-SMD) in a CBS350-24T-4X Network Switch with SFP+ ports. Googling didn't help much and users were warned about usage of 3rd party SFP Modules, SFP firmwares being the culprit when found incompatible.

Thanks!

look at Cisco optics compatibility Matrix here

I see that GLC-LH-SMD will work with CBS350

-hope this helps-

That SFP Module is indeed compatible with the CBS350 Series of switches, however the switch I've selected to work with is stated to only support SFP+ Modules ie. 4 x SFP+. For cost saving purposes, if I decide to choose a 1G SFP Module, I would like to know whether that module will be recognized and will start functioning as expected.

Thanks!

Thank you very much for your kind help. That link does confirm and resolves my doubt.

Have a good day sir/madam!

Dear @ryujin7177

Just want to share, in my current organization, we use WS-C2960S-24PD-L, with two SFP+ uplink.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-2960-s-series-switches/data_sheet_c78-726680.html

If 1G sfp transciever is inserted, it will use 1G port 25, if a 10G sfp tranciever (SFP+) is inserted then it uses the 10G port 1/0/1 interface. (same with 1G port 26 and 10G port 1/0/2)

A similar case also posted in the community, where you can change the XG port in CBS switch to use 1000M which in case the use of 1G SFP module.
