On Cisco ASR 1001-HX, we have a 10G-LR (on Te0/1/0) and 2x10G-SR (on Te0/1/2 and Te0/1/4) on BUILT-IN-8X10G/1G module.
While 10G-LR works fine, but 2x10G-SR are not detecting on 'sh inventory'. Getting below error on 'sh logs'.

Use a different optic.

Thanks Leo for Responding.
Yeah, I noticed that. But we have 2 such SFP on this router, both same status. And we have 2 such routers (R01 and R02) with 2x10G-SR SFP, same problem. Do you think faulty SFP for all 4? But will try with a new SFP. Will keep you posted. Thank you.
08-10-2022 05:19 AM
Ok, let's try a simple experiment:
Each SFP has two cavities: One for RX and another for TX. What happens if you loop the optic? Insert one strand into the TX and, the end of that strand, into the RX. Does the port go up/up?

Thanks for the suggestion. Will try this during after hrs tonight with a tech at site.

What does the SFP it self say?
NAME: "subslot 0/1 transceiver 0", DESCR: "10GBASE-SR/SW"
PID: XFP-10G-MM-SR , VID: V03 , SN: XXX
Possibly Wrong PID for SPA? It should still read the RAW data even though the router won't turn it on. IF it can't read RAW data -- the SFP is dead and/or wrong for platform.
08-10-2022 06:59 AM
A big output, but here what I have for the port.
NAME: "subslot 0/1 transceiver 2", DESCR: "Unknown pluggable optics"
PID: , VID: , SN:

I suspect it is a licensing issue. The ASR 10 Gbps interface licensing is tricky and not well-documented. Can you try moving one of the 10G-SR transceivers to Te0/1/1 and seeing if it is recognized there? (or temporarily removing and shutdown of the 10G-LR transceiver and associated port).
Your license "interface_10g (ASR_1000_HX_10GE_2P):" may be restricting you to two ports (total) in a given port pair.
08-10-2022 07:05 AM
Thanks Marvin. Didn't notice this earlier. Seems this license "interface_10g (ASR_1000_HX_10GE_2P):" came by default. We have the ASR_1000_AdvEnterprise license in EOL. How to change it to use all 8 port? or is this license mandatory to run this router?
08-10-2022 09:19 PM
Thank you all for valuable suggestions. The issue stands resolved. Seems the set of SFPs were faulty. Replacing them worked fine. Thanks again.
