Once upon a time, two 7970 phones with a shared DN would indicate, with a red light on the line button, when the other phones was using the line. Now it does not. It works fine on my 7914 side cars. I setup two new 7970 phones as a test and, sure enough, no red light. How do I get this function back? Is this a bug?
CCM 3.3.3sr4a
7970 version 6.01
Thanks,
Patrick

There is a bug open for it but no workaround. Just curios why the status is 'resolved' then. Hopefully the next firmware release
CSCee24925 Bug Details
Status Resolved
Headline 7970 running 6.0.1 load does not show remote in use on shared line
Release Notes
Symptom:
7970 do not display remote in use to shared lines when running the 6.0.1 phone
load.
To reproduce this assign the same extension to 2 7970 and place a call to or
from the shared line, from a third phone. When the call is answered the 7970
that is NOT connected to the call will not be marked as remote in use.
Conditions:
CCM 3.3(3)sr3 or 3.3(4)
7970 with 6.0.1 phone load
Workaround:
None

Enable Barge in your CCM service parameters and you should get the line status back. This is supposed to be the workaround for now.

I enabled barge and it did restore my line status lights. Thanks for the tip.
