ATA 186 and Modem support

How can we make that the ATA 186 works with a 56Kbps modem or a 28.8 kbps modem?

The newer model ATA's are going to be better with modems, but you won't get 56Kbps out of them. Shouldn't need to make any configuration changes.

Just so everyone knows, the new ATAs (I1 and I2 models) were redesigned to provide better support for fax. Modems, though you may be able to get them to work using the fax passthrough configuration (especially with the newer models), are not supported on the ATAs.
