Has anyone tried the auto assign feature in CME with the ATA and got it to work ?

Basically, you assign an unused ephone and an ephone dn. As long as you have the ata firmware on flash, it should automatically assign the ephone dn to the ata. Also, if you want the 2nd analog port to register, just create another unused ephone/ephone-dn. It worked great for me.

Not sure I follow you here. I was referring to the "auto assign" command http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps5012/products_command_reference_chapter09186a00801c59f5.html#1024484 which automatically assigns ephone-dn's when phones register. The ATA does not seem to behave like an IP phone, although the command has "ata" as a choice for the "type" keyword.

Sorry...What I was saying was I got my ATA adapters to register without using the auto assign command. I simply used the process I stated before, and the ATA's came up automatically...both ports! CM is not even that easy.
