When IP Phones have Display Internal Caller ID field filled in ( with any number or name ), the information is seen in debug isdn q931 information in 3745 gateway which hands calls off to Avaya PBX.
The Avaya seems to not like this info in SETUP and drops calls, IP Phones gets reorder. Once we remove the information in Call Manager DN field, calls go through ok.
Question is, Can you configure 3745 gateway to conceal this information since it really is only used for internal IP Phone to IP phone calling ?
7960 CM 3.3.4 -- 3745 -- Avaya --- PSTN
Thanks.

the only thing i can think of is that the Avaya is expecting the CLI to be a certain number of digits.
You need to find out what number the Avaya accepts, then do a translate rule
eg Translation-rule 1
rule 0 any XXXXXXXX < this being the number that the PABX will accept
then on the POTS dial peer do a
"translate-outgoing calling 1"

Hello Richard,
Believe I did not explain this well enough since issue is very strange.
The true CLID field in CM is actually External Phone Number Mask. This field is filled in with actual number for the outbound calls and works ok with Avaya on all calls.
Once we fill in the Internal ( IP Phone only ) CLID field in CM, some calls will work ok but others fail.
Notice information from both fields is displayed in the 3745 gateway debug isdn q931.
This information should only be for internal calls not external ones.
Any other input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
Try changing the trunk configuration for the AVAYA from Progress to Alerting.
Also in the CCM gateway config page for the 3745 gateway check only
Display IE Delivery
Redirecting Number IE Delivery - Outbound
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Arijit
