Bandwidth calculation in VoFR

Hi,

I am using G729 compression in VoFR.

I want to calculate bandwidth occupied for each call.

Initial step is to calculate voice payload:

voice payload =

(20Msec voice sample * 8kbps)/8bits/byte = 20 bytes.

But I have a query. Pls explain why 20Msec voice sample is taken?

20ms voice sample is just the default sample size used. It can be adjusted in the configuration of the dial-peer.

yes it is the default value but why?
