CallManager 3.3(5) and Clusterwide QoS Settings

I have a test CCM 3.3(5) server running on a HP DL320 server. I have read the recent(ish) comments from Cisco stating that all voice products will migrate from using DSCP AF31 (26) to DSCP CS3 (24) for signalling but in the interim both values should be matched in ACL's and policies etc.

I have been looking if you can change this anywhere in CCM 3.3(5) and it looks like the 7960 IP phones I have must have the ability to change this as it is now displayed in Network Settings - firmware 7.1(2), although there is nowhere in the phone settings pages to change this.

Additionally in the Advanced Service Parameters for the CallManager Service you can change the Clusterwide Paramaters (System - QOS) for the 'IP TOS Bit Mask between Cisco CallManagers' and the 'IP TOS Bit Mask for Communication between Cisco CallManager and Device'. By default this is set to 0x68, that translates to DSCP AF31 (26), I can change this to 0x60 that gives me DSCP CS3 (24). This is fine for signalling traffic from CCM to the IP Phones but the traffic from the IP Phones to CCM is still DSCP AF31. Is there anyway to change this?

Thanks

Andy

I want to ask a same questions. Is that a big change for existing VoIP network???

For instance:

I always use this command at my 3550 switch:

mls qos map cos-dscp 0 8 16 26 34 46 48 56.

So we have to change:

mls qos map cos-dscp 0 8 16 24 34 46 48 56.

I know in CallManager Enterprise Parameters, you can change from CS3 to AF31. Am I ok to do that???

I still confuse about why cisco do that, and what are we going to do for this change???? Any documentation or design guide to help us to re-configure our existing VoIP network??

Thanks guys

Hi

The 'New' CoS/IP-Prec to DSCP is apparently:

mls qos map cos-dscp 0 8 16 24 32 46 48 56

mls qos map ip-prec-dscp 0 8 16 24 32 46 48 56

You say in CCM Enterprise Parameters you can change CS3 to AF31 - I can't see this on my CCM 3.3(5) server, is this a CCM 4.x feature?

Thanks

Andy

Yes, 4.02a(sr1a)

I attach the picture of Entreprise Parameters.

Is that one what you looking for??? let me know.

By the way, is 32 for vedio?? I thought is 34.

Thanks
