Is there any way (Perhaps using XML) to change the status line (ie. "You Have VoiceMail" or "Your current options") on 7960 IP Phones?
I know that using the Idle URL and an XML file, I can change the entire display to an image or text or a feed or whatever... But I specifically just want to change that Status line without blotting out everything else on the screen. Is it possible?
Thanks for your advice.

Hi David,
Have a look at this recent thread that details this question about the "System Message" with great answers from Sankar and Mahesh;
Hope this helps!

Rob,
I am looking for a way to do what David is trying to do as well. I review the post the you referenced and the author makes reference to IPCelerate software as a potential solution. If the IPCelertae software can accomplish this functionality there must be a programmatic method to leverage the functionality. Could you point me in the right direction on were to find some information about how to do this? Thank you in advance for your help!

Some of the folks from a IPTel vendor company that I have been chatting with here say that the only way to achieve this is by editing the "core Call Manager XML files".
I think they are talking about a system-wide change of the core XML files within Call Manager, that would enable the Idle URL field XML file to just manipulate the Status line.
I guess IPCelerate must also edit these core XML files. I'll let you know if I find anything else out.
