Cisco UC VM has two IP addresses

Hi,

I've an issue with Cisco CUC and Cisco IMP VMs. After successful installation for those VMs, I figured out that they cannot reach out to many network subnets and after troubleshooting the issue I found out those VMs have IP address other than the one I configured to them during the installation. I am attaching the snapshot for VM from ESXi.

So anyone faced this kind of issue before?

Whats your CUC and IMP versions.

The IP 172.17.0.0/16 is the docker container network IP if you are on version 14, which has docker running on this subnet. You need to apply the patch below if your version is affected by this bug ID. This will prevent the issue of using the docker network instead of Eth0.

https://bst.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvx24118

download the following file from Cisco.com and install the extracted COP

file: ciscocm.CSCvx24118 _V14.0_docker_network_v2.zip

This COP file is applicable for UCM, CUC, IM&P, CUC and CER.

Access the CUC CLI and execute the command "show network eth0", If the displayed IP address is the same as the one you have configured at the installation, it indicates an issue with the CUC virtual machine's network configuration. In this case, review and modify the VMware ESXi network settings for the CUC VM to ensure it aligns with the desired IP configuration.

Could please share the output of the command "show network eth0"

I checked that already and it's the same IP address that I configured during the installation wizard. Besides, VM network settings are showing one NIC card only so it should be one IP address mapped to one MAC address.

thanks @ibrahim

Hi ,

CUCM and IM&P , but also Uniti Connection, can't be configured with dual il address so that could be only a visual issue.

As @Ibrahim AlQumairi  mentioned, you can view your UC Server network configuration trhough show network eth0 deail.

Please let us know..

Thanks Nithin for your response.

I have the latest release of CUC which is 14(SU3). I've looked into the bug you sent me and I will try this workaround. I will keep you posted.

FYI the latest version of CUC is 14.0 SU3a.
