Our faxes aren't working & after analysing the E1 controller we've noticed a lot of clock slips. This is on a 7206VXR running 12.3(6b).
To solve the slips, we have configured the following command :-
frame-clock-select E1 1 1/0
After a shut/no shut, the "show frame-clocks" shows that the clock source is the E1 for about 30 seconds then the clock source reverts to the local oscillator instead of the E1 :-
Priority 1 clock source: E1 1/0 input: Primary UP
Priority 2 clock source: not configured input: none
Priority 3 clock source: not configured input: none
Priority 4 clock source: not configured input: none
Priority 5 clock source: not configured input: none
Current clock source : local oscillator, input:Internal, priority:5
We have swapped out the PA-VXA-1TE1-30+ so I don't think this is hardware related & there are no bugs showing on CCO for this image.
Any ideas why the clock source is not showing as line ?
Best wishes,
Paul.

You can try re-cabling the line. That could also cause this problem.

Ok,
The SP kit was faulty in the exchange - they swapped this out & the clocking now works fine.
The 7206 was trying to sync to the first available clock source (line) & failing after 30 seconds back to the only other clock source it has - the internla clock.
