Colon next to line appearance on ip phone

We have a user that had an odd issue. They had a colon (:) that showed up next to their primary line appearance on their 7940 IP phone. I reset the phone from Call Manager and the colon disappeared. What caused this and what does that colon mean? Any thoughts?

usually a colon keeps blinking which indicates the seconds of the time , If you have not configured your clock properly it keeps blinking.
